How to Use XL Routes Static IP's as a Browser Proxy On Firefox
Q: How can XLRoutes be used as a browser proxy?
A: On Firefox, follow the instructions below
Note that this is only for XL Routes Static and will not work on XL Routes Shield or XLRoutes Dynamic
Step 1. Click on the hamburger menu icon.
Step 2. Click on Preferences or Options.
Step 3. Scroll down to Network Settings under General and click Settings.
Step 4. Follow the configuration below:
- HTTP Proxy: proxy.xlroutes.com (ex. us-east-static-07.xlroutes.com)
- Port: 9293
- Put a check on “Also use this for FTP and HTTPS”
- Select OK
Step 5. When prompted for Username/Password, enter your Username/Password which you can find in our dashboard or as part of the connection URL:
http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@PROXY.xlroutes.com
Step 6. Browse https://ip.xlroutes.com to test.
